Nursing Home

Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

The Liberty Nursing Home Ministry began in the 1970’s as a small group visiting the Granada Nursing Home, which is now called The Liberty Heights Rehabilitation Center.  At present our ministry has expanded to include The Genesis Future Care I and The Future Care II Nursing Homes.

By dividing the members into three groups we are able to visit all three nursing homes each month.  Our ministry includes singing, preaching the gospel, teaching and giving Bible studies to the residents. We always encourage those with whom we come in contact and lend a listening ear whenever needed.  One of the highlights is when we greet and pray individually with each resident.  Many times in answer to our prayers we have seen miraculous results, which lets us as well as the residents know that God is still in the healing business.
Another important highlight is literature distribution, including such books as The Great Controversy; The Desire of Ages and The National Sunday Law.
According to the Scriptures, ministry to the sick, was a very important part of the work that Jesus did while here on earth.
See Matthew 4:24;
Matthew 14:14 and Luke 4:40.

Our ministry is not limited to the residents and many times we are given the opportunity to witness and to encourage the staff.  Just to see the smiles on their faces tells us how much we are loved, needed and appreciated. Come join us!
