Brother Wade Cross, one of Liberty’s dedicated deacons, enjoys a hobby that keeps him outdoor. A member of Liberty for ten years, Cross cultivates a thriving vegetable garden.
Cross and others in his neighborhood rent land in their community and grow fruits, vegetables and flowers of all kinds.
“It’s fun even though it is hard work,” said Cross who has been gardening for 23 years. He said gardening reminds him of the creative power of God, and he finds it relaxing and rewarding.
“I get satisfaction from seeing God bless me with healthy food and beautiful flowers,” Cross said. He grows tomatoes, watermelons, sweet potatoes, carrots, corn, peppers and grapes.
